What We Do

Projeto Escola de Vida – CV (PEVCV) is a transformative community initiative in Cape Verde dedicated to empowering children and youth through education, music, and personal development. Through engaging programs like music classes, reading clubs, creative workshops, and cultural events, PEVCV nurtures talent, builds confidence, and strengthens community bonds. By providing a safe and inspiring space for learning and expression, PEVCV is helping to shape a brighter future—one child at a time.

Ways We Serve Cape Verde

Practical ministries impacting lives through education, faith, and service.

Main Portrait
Sewing Project

The Project's Sewing and Cutting Course's mission is to empower women in socially vulnerable situations by offering technical training in sewing to promote income generation and sustainable employment. In addition to professional learning, the course seeks to promote the overall well-being of participants, addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social aspects, strengthening their self-esteem, creating community ties, and providing them with tools to support their families and transform their lives.

Preaching
Boys Club

The mission of the boys club is to provide an opportunity for boys who either have no father or an absent father figure in their life to provide spiritual/moral council but also to train basic life skills to help assist in a better future with their own families and professional careers. In class we focus on the life of Christ, what he said, and did, and what he expects of us personally. In practice, we offer skills such as, first aid/cpr, swimming lessons, tying ties and knots, basic vehicle maintenance, using basic tools, cooking basics, basic budgeting and savings.

English Classes

In Cape Verde, English plays a huge role in communications and forming relationships between countries as it’s usually the neutral language they will speak in military meetings, investor negotiations, and tourism. It may open many doors of personal opportunity as well.

With Kids
First Aid/CPR

These basic skills are lacking among the normal population and absent in many public arenas including the schools. The understanding of simple techniques save lives, and we have seen it work first hand.

Ministry Life
Book Club

This club is a is a space specifically designed to spark a love of books and foster reading habits among children and adolescents participating in the project. In addition to individual reading, the club promotes discussions, role-plays, storytelling, and the exchange of experiences, creating a welcoming and motivating environment. Regular reading improves students' ability to interpret texts, identify main ideas, and conduct critical analysis—essential skills for their academic and professional success.

Ministry Life
Counseling

This project focuses on many (young and older) who are in need of personal abuse counseling, trauma, and financial training. This also includes going into the public schools for lectures on various topics that effect spiritual and practical development.

Ministry Life
Personal Discipleship

Our objective is to train up and edify individuals with the Word of God, so that they may replicate this practice with another. We teach the essentials of the faith, but also through prayer we strive to be a present source of help in life their development.

Ministry Life
Local Church

We are a self-governing community of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, united in the New Covenant to hear the Word of God preached, praise God, share the gospel, practice its ordinances of Believers Baptism and administer the Lords Supper until Christ returns.

Ministry Life
VBS

This and other yearly events are open to the entire community that offer games, songs, and workshops focused on the gospel message.

Ministry Life
Back to School Campaign

The campaign aims to collect and distribute school supplies (such as notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, erasers, sharpeners, etc.) to children and adolescents from socially vulnerable families, ensuring they have the means to start the school year with the necessary resources to study. More than just meeting a material need, this campaign demonstrates care, promotes equal opportunities, and encourages academic study.
